Meet Dr Vanessa

Vanessa always wanted to be a vet.  Caring for companion animals has been part of her life since her very first pets; Tom the cat, and Gypsy the Maltese Terrier.  Her love of animals continued at Hurlstone Agricultural High School, and culminated in completing her Bachelor of Veterinary Science at Sydney University (1999), with First Class Honours.

Now, years later, she still loves pets – caring for her two fur babies: Dali (a rescued tuxedo domestic short hair), and Bruce (a poodle-bichon frise).

In 2019 she sat her membership exams with the Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and was awarded the Robert Holme Award achieving the highest marks in Australia for her subject – Veterinary Behaviour (including content from Dr Kersti Seksel – specialist in Veterinary Behaviour).

Dr Vanessa continues to mentor student force free trainers with the Delta Institute as well as helping more vets achieve a membership with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS) in Veterinary Behaviour. She is certified ‘Fear Free‘ which means she understands how pets communicate and uses proven techniques to make your pet feel calm and comfortable.
